Homecoming 2010

Homecoming 2010

Aspen went with Josh Troseth to Homecoming. She is wearing very high heels, so you can guess how tall he is. Emily did her hair. She is turning out to be super good at doing hair (a trait she did not inherit from her mother!). Aspen's date started at 9:30 am on Saturday morning. They went 4-wheeling and on a picnic and played games. They were with seven other couples. She came home mid-afternoonish to prepare for the event. Josh picked her up at 6:30, and I'm happy to say that on her fourth formal dance we navigated the boutonniere quite well.

These cute t-shirts were given to the twins by their Uncle Vard. Pretty cute. I was hoping for a better shot of them sitting by each other so I could offer it to Gary Herbert for his campaign, which is not the case with twin one year olds.

Soggy Diaper

Lucy's diaper was on a little too long, as you can see from these pictures. Cute, though!

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY

My how time flies (kind of, not really)! Exactly one year ago today, I went up for a routine non-stress test for the twins when I was almost 32 weeks along. The non-stress test indicated that Baby B's (Lucy) heart rate was decelerating periodically. They did not want to send me home, but were not alarmed either. They sent me to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for 24 hour monitoring. That turned into 2 1/2 weeks of me hooked up to two fetal monitors while Shane kept everything under control at home. Lucy's heart rate continued to dip a little here and a little there, enough to make the perinatologist think it best that I stay in the hospital. It was a rough 2 1/2 weeks and felt like two months.

Funny, I look back on it now as a beautiful time and wish I could visit the hospital again just to reminisce and remember that special time right before the twins were born.

JUST CHILLIN'

ENJOYING A PILLOW...

LIKE, GRANDMOTHER, LIKE GRANDAUGHTER...

Lucy is not really drinking a Diet Coke in this picture. That happens to be an empty can that her mother polished off.

HAZEL FOUND THE FOOD COLORING

HAZEL'S BLUE FACE

Bonnie went to church a couple of weeks ago and left Shane in charge of the twins. When she got home, Shane mentioned to Bonnie that Hazel found a tube of blue food coloring and it popped in her mouth. These pictures don't really do justice to her blue face. She almost looked like she wasn't breathing because of her blue face.

ASPEN'S PROM

Dancing with Grandpa Vern after the floorshow. With her double date group.

A beautiful and sweet girl.

Josh Rasmussen picking her up. He forgot her corsage, so they picked it up on the way to the dance.

Emily took some lovely pictures of her and then did her special effects on the computer.
